It`s been a really busy couple of weeks for our region. Here is a quick catch up on what`s been delivered in our region and what we are delivering.

- Stratford Community Hall is complete
- Stan Williams Park is complete
- Ellis Beach Surf Life Saving Club is complete
- Early works have commenced on the Cairns Western Arterial Road upgrade
- Construction is underway on the new Turtle Rehabilitation Centre
- Hospital upgrades continue, including the new helipad
- The Ryan Weare Pathway is a go!
- Kuranda Range safety works are nearing completion, with Henry Ross Lookout now open and road closures set to pause over the December school holiday period
- Earl Hill in Trinity Park is on track for completion before the wet season
- Wangetti Trail and Smithfield Mountain Bike Park are both on track

And there`s even more to look forward to.

We`re secured some major events for our region including Powderfinger, the T20 Gold Clash and the Rainforest Rumble.

This is what delivering for Far North Queensland looks like: better roads, stronger community infrastructure, improved health services, great recreational spaces and more reasons for people to visit and enjoy our incredible region.

Get ready for an afternoon of high-energy performances and thunderous beats as Drum Infinity Mugendai celebrates its 10th anniversary with a free community concert at Edge Hill State School.

Then on Sunday, 1 November, community members will have the chance to pick up the drumsticks themselves at a Let`s Try Taiko workshop, open to people of all ages and experience levels.

What a great night at the AFL Cairns Umpires Presentation Night 2026! 🏉🎉
A huge congratulations to Kyra Hourigan on taking home the Golden Whistle, and to Jet Schwartz and Lucas Mitchell, who couldn`t be separated in the voting, resulting in the first-ever draw for the Umpires` Umpire Award.

For real life, Bluey came to Parliament! Well, the video game version that is.

It was a pleasure to attend the official launch of Bluey`s Happy Snaps at Queensland Parliament House last week.

Created in partnership with Brisbane-based developers, the game is another reminder that some of the world`s best stories and ideas are being created right here in Queensland.
