Seniors Grants

Aged Care Capital Assistance Program

The Aged Care Capital Assistance Program (ACCAP) provides grants to build, extend, or upgrade aged care services or to build staff accommodation where older Australians have limited or no access.

Seniors Month 2025 Grants

Eligible organisations can apply for grants of up to $2,000 to host inclusive events and activities during Queensland Seniors Month (1—31 October).

Seniors Month is all about promoting positive community attitudes towards older people and ageing while providing opportunities for older Queenslanders to connect with each other and their communities.

Educational Grants

The 2025 Queensland Youth Week (QYW) Grant

Grants available for young Queenslanders aged 12-25 to host impactful community events during this time.

Grants of up to $5,000 (including GST) are offered to support these initiatives. To apply, individuals must partner with a local community group or organisation.

Application due by February 23, 2025.

Disaster Support

Disaster Assistance Loans

For primary producers, small businesses, and non-profits affected by severe weather in Burdekin, Cairns, Cassowary Coast, Hinchinbrook, Palm Island, Townsville, and Yarrabah.

Loan amount: Up to $250,000.

Eligible expenses: Repairing/replacing equipment, buildings, and restocking.

Telstra Connected Communities Grant 

The Connected Communities Grant Program, supports Australia’s remote, rural, and regional communities with $600,000 to foster inclusion and resilience over three years.

Applications close at 5pm on Thursday 20th of March 2025.

North Queensland Natural Disaster Mitigation Program (NQNDMP)

Government-funded program supporting flood mitigation and resilience projects in areas like Bundaberg, Burdekin, Cairns, Cook Shire, and Hinchinbrook.

Environmental Recovery and Stewardship Grant

Crime and DV Support

Victim Impact Statement (VIS) Assistance

Victim Assist Queensland provides financial assistance to victims of violent crime in Queensland to help them recover. Victim Assist can only provide financial assistance to victims of violent crime, including domestic violence, who were injured by another person or due to dangerous driving (person on person crime).

Victim Impact Statement Assistance

If you need assistance with writing a Victim Impact Statement (VIS), you can contact Victim Support service or a legal professional for guidance on how to effectively communicate the impact of the crime on your life. All victims of crime who wish to submit a VIS to the court can access this service. VIS may also be able to assist with financial relief but this is determined on a case by case basis.

Towing of Motor Vehicles Scheme

In April 2024, the Queensland Government announced a $10 million dollar investment into a Towing of Motor Vehicles Scheme to provide financial assistance to victims of vehicle theft.

The scheme aims to ease financial burden for victims of vehicle theft and enhance community confidence among Queensland communities.

Offers emergency funds, safe banking options, and financial counseling.

Centrelink Crisis Payment for Extreme Circumstances

A one-off payment for people escaping domestic violence.

Westpac’s DV Banking Assistance

Provides immediate financial support for customers affected by domestic violence.
