ANZAC day is a day to remember, reflect and honour our past and present Defence Personnel and their families. This year I was honoured to be able to attend four different services across our region.
At 5:30am I joined thousands at Trinity Beach for their Dawn Service. Well done to all participating schools, to Rotary for organising such an impressive service, and to the community for its strong turnout. Thank you for honoring our past and present Defence Personnel and their families.

The next service I had the honor of attending was the Yorkeys Knob Anzac service. This was such a beautiful location and ceremony.Well done to two students from Yorkeys Knob State School who delivered a powerful speech beyond their years. Thank you Yorkeys Knob Boating Club and the Yorkeys Knob community Association, Far Northern Brass Band, Yorkeys Knob School Choir and everyone involved for your amazing efforts.

After this it was onto Stratford. Well done to all the cadets, student leaders, scouts, and young community members who came together to honour our service men and women past and present.
Standing alongside veterans and the next generation was a powerful reminder that the spirit of Anzac endures. The values of courage, mateship, and sacrifice are alive in the hearts of our young people — many of whom are already stepping up to serve through cadetships, volunteering, and civic leadership.

Following this I managed to just make to the Cairns RSL service. Thank you Jeremy Neal – LNP for Leichhardt for laying a wreath on my behalf at the Cenotaph at the dawn service.
It was a very hectic morning but one I was honoured to be involved in.

Lest we Forget.
