A definite highlight was catching up with our very own Barron Bear who took home a third place in the annual Mascot race and gave out countless high fives and hugs.
It was also great to attend the annual Town and Country Breakfast and check out the many exhibitions.
There’s something magical about wandering through the agricultural displays, watching the kids light up over rides and showbags, and bumping into old friends. No matter how long you’ve lived here or where you’re from, the Cairns Show is a beautiful reminder of everything that makes Far North Queensland so unique.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat—it was a real privilege to hear your stories and share in the joy of this much-loved community tradition.

What an incredible few days we had at this year’s Cairns Show! There’s something truly special about this annual event that brings our whole community together—and this year was no exception.
From families experiencing the show for the first time to lifelong locals sharing memories of shows gone by, it was a joy to connect with so many people across our region. Whether it was chatting about local issues, celebrating community achievements, or simply having a laugh, these face-to-face conversations are what I value most in my role.
