SQW is a Queensland Government initiative that helps people—especially those facing barriers to employment—access training, gain qualifications, and move into real jobs.
It’s targeted at disadvantaged Queenslanders such as young people, long-term unemployed, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
SQW has helped over 100,000 Queenslanders access training and employment—an incredible milestone reached earlier this year. Of those, nearly 67,000 people have gone on to secure jobs as a direct result of the program.
From Torres Strait Islands to Longreach, and down to Currumbin, the impact has been felt right across the state—and now, right here in Smithfield and the Northern Beaches.
I couldn’t be prouder to share this news and to support organisations like MCNC that go above and beyond for our community.
Let’s keep investing in our people, building skills, and creating local jobs!
