Centacare Multiculturalism Month

The program began with a heartfelt Acknowledgement of Country by Hendrick Fourmile, followed by a stirring performance from David Hudson. We were also joined in prayer and welcome by Bishop Joe Caddy, setting a respectful and inclusive tone for the night.

The cultural performances were nothing short of spectacular — from the Japanese Drum Infinity Mugendai to the lively Latin Roots and the moving Rwandan cultural group. Each act told a story of heritage, tradition, and community spirit, showcasing the incredible talent and diversity we have here in Far North Queensland.

Multicultural Month

A special thank you to Centacare FNQ for organising this event and for their ongoing dedication to supporting and uniting our community. Their work ensures that everyone, no matter where they come from, feels welcomed and valued here in Cairns.

The evening wrapped up with delicious food, cake cutting, and a beautiful vocal performance by Nita — a perfect ending to a night filled with joy, connection, and hope.

Multicultural Month reminds us all that while we each have our own stories, together we create the vibrant tapestry that is Queensland. I’m proud to be part of such a welcoming and diverse community.
