As a parent, small business owner, community advocate, and now your State Member of Parliament, I know how deeply decisions made in Brisbane affect the lives we live here in the Far North.

Whether it's improving our roads, backing local jobs and small businesses, protecting our environment, supporting families, or keeping our communities safe, I'm here to fight for our fair share and make sure we're never overlooked.

My team and I work tirelessly to represent the people of Barron River, and there is a lot of work to do. We have a deep passion for local issues and a commitment to progress. Together we are focused on delivering tangible outcomes for our region.

From PakMag to Politics

I began my entrepreneurial journey at the age of 18, starting my first official business.

In 2003 I moved to Cairns and immediately knew this would be my home for life. In 2007, I started PakMag, a free parenting and children's magazine that was distributed monthly in Cairns, Townsville, Mackay and online for 16 years. As a small business owner, one of my biggest passions is strengthening and supporting businesses.

The world is waiting for all of us to step up and take action. It’s not just the big issues. It’s also the small issues that can make a big difference. I am proud to be doing what I can to create positive change for Barron River and Queensland.

Trinity Beach biz Nurturing Life Connections is celebrating the expansion of its online store with a community pop-up event for local families.

Join the team on Saturday 24 October at Brinsmead Community Hall for a free morning of child-led play, sensory experiences and connection. Families will have the chance to browse a therapist-curated range of toys and resources while children explore hands-on activities in a safe, fully fenced environment.

The event will also feature a free sensory slime workshop delivered by local business CC Slime Bar, along with play zones, toy demonstrations and access to the shaded playground.

Support local businesses and keep our community strong.

ICYMI: The Crisafulli Government is introducing nation-leading reforms to close a loophole in Queensland`s parole system and strengthen laws around the state`s most serious offenders.

These changes will ensure victims` voices are heard, community safety remains the priority, and those who commit the most heinous crimes can be kept behind bars for longer.

Learn more about flood preparation, emergency kits, recovery planning, financial assistance, insurance and business continuity, with plenty of hands-on activities for the whole family.

There`ll also be a FREE sausage sizzle, kids` activities and opportunities to connect with local organisations working to keep Yorkeys Knob safe, resilient and prepared.

I encourage everyone to come along and support this fantastic community initiative.

An upgraded playground is coming to Clifton Beach!

Silver Crescent Playground between Clifton Beach and Palm Cove is getting a makeover. Shout-out to Cr Brett Olds Deputy Mayor - Cairns Regional Council who has worked closely with the community and Cairns Regional Council to help progress this much-needed upgrade.

I`m looking forward to seeing this popular local park get some well-deserved love and become an even better space for local families to enjoy for years to come.

An upgraded playground is coming to Clifton Beach! Silver Crescent Playground between Clifton Beach and Palm Cove is getting a makeover. Shout-out to Cr Brett Olds Deputy Mayor - Cairns Regional Council who has worked closely with the community and Cairns Regional Council to help progress this much-needed upgrade. I'm looking forward to seeing this popular local park get some well-deserved love and become an even better space for local families to enjoy for years to come. Well done Cairns Regional Council!

Stan Williams Park upgrade is officially complete thanks to the Crisafulli Government`s Games On! Funding stream. The Sports Minister and I toured the new facilities earlier this month and they look amazing! Stan Williams is set to host the Rubgy 7s later this month and is the new temporary home of the Northern Pride too.

I look forward to seeing plenty more sporting events secured at this venue.

Our new laws establish the Queensland Protection Commission, bringing key child safeguarding functions together under one roof, creating a dedicated Intelligence Hub to identify risks earlier, and strengthening penalties for those who fail in their responsibilities to protect children.

These reforms are about one thing: keeping Queensland children safe.
