About Bree James

After being in business for over two decades, I have solid personal values that guide my decision-making. These values have helped me stay on track for my journey and helped me through some very tough times.

From PakMag to Politics

I began my entrepreneurial journey at the age of 18, starting my first official business.

In 2003 I moved to Cairns and immediately knew this would be my home for life. In 2007, I started PakMag, a free parenting and children's magazine that was distributed monthly in Cairns, Townsville, Mackay and online for 16 years. As a small business owner, one of my biggest passions is strengthening and supporting businesses.

The world is waiting for all of us to step up and take action. It’s not just the big issues. It’s also the small issues that can make a big difference. I am proud to be doing what I can to create positive change for Barron River and Queensland.

My Guiding Principles

  • Economic growth and job creation
  • Education and skills development
  • Small business support
  • Improved access to health and housing
  • Environmental sustainability for economic prosperity
  • Reducing the crime crisis through rehabilitation and stronger penalties for repeat offenders
  • Ensuring Barron River receives the funding and support we need to strengthen our community

It was great to meet with the team from Himalayan Community Care Services and discuss what they are doing in the disability support industry.

Looking forward to seeing the impact of initiatives like the upcoming Unity Cup, bringing people together through sport and cultural celebration.

Thank you for the work you do supporting our community.
