Happy 40th Birthday Smithfield!

Home » Happy 40th Birthday Smithfield!

  • March 26, 2026
So pleased to be invited to the official cake cutting ceremony where we sang Happy Birthday and shared our memories of Smithfield Shopping Centre.
Over the past four decades, Smithfield has grown from a simple shopping destination into a true hub of community life.
I still have great memories from my Pakmag days, especially the Christmas shows including the year we brought Hi-5 to the centre!
Even today, the centre continues to go above and beyond, hosting fantastic events and school holiday activities that are a real lifeline for parents.
I’m also grateful for the ongoing collaboration with the centre over the years, from my Pakmag days to now as a Member of Parliament. Your support for mobile offices, schools, and youth engagement has made a genuine difference in our community.
Thank you for a great morning and delicious cake!
