The bus will be used to transport tourists between their accommodation and the Smithfield terminal as well as to ferry people to and from Freshwater Train Station.
This initiative aligns with Far North Queensland’s reputation as a leader in ecotourism and sustainable transport solutions.

One of Barron River’s gems is Skyrail. It brings thousands to our region as tourists flock to see the rainforest from this unique perspective. Skyrail has taken a significant step toward sustainable tourism by introducing a fully electric 57-seat bus in partnership with Tropic Wings (Capta Group).
I was invited to cut the ribbon on their new electric bus, go for a little drive and discuss this incredible partnership with Richard from Skyrail Rainforest Cable and Colin from Tropic Wings. And check it out – the sun came to the party too!
