Their games attract an average of over 4,000 fans to watch their games which supports our local economy. Their local support of basketball clubs and Mini Taipans program engages with hundreds of kids in our region.

It was an honour to attend and speak tonight about the impact the Taipans have on our community. I arrived a little bit late after finding a turtle on the road on my way there. My husband Trent and I stopped to pick up the turtle and return it to a nearby creek. You can check out the reel on my Facebook.
For over 25 years the Taipans have been in the NBL putting us on the National sporting map. As one of a handful of regional NBL teams, they’ve punched above their weight and are a team we are super proud of.
This season was tough, but like FNQ locals, they are fighters. Despite countless injuries and hurdles for their team, they never gave up. Their commitment, community engagement and way they inspire our youth is commendable.
