I also want to thank the 160 volunteers and sponsors who are passionate about celebrating and preserving Chinese heritage. I am pleased to announce that the Crisafulli Government will provide $2.7 million in funding for the Chinese Cultural Heritage Centre. CADCAI has dreamed of this for 40 years.
It’s not easy to pull off two weeks of events as a community and volunteer led organisation, so well done to the Chinese Community in Cairns. You did a fantastic job. Be sure to follow CADCAI to remain up to date with more events throughout the year.

Today was the final day of a very successful and vibrant Chinese New Year Festival by CADCAI, where I was honoured to speak as a representative for Minister of Multiculturalism Fiona Simpson MP today. The Lantern Festival was one of the biggest in history, attracting thousands to the Esplanade for an evening of food, festivities and fun.
