This week marks 12 months of the Crisafulli Government delivering for Queensland, with a Week of Action being held across the state to highlight key achievements and thank the communities that helped make them happen.
In Far North Queensland, we are celebrating the milestone in true North Queensland style — with a Donut Delivery campaign recognising the projects, partnerships, and people delivering results for our region.
Throughout the Week of Action (20–26 October 2025), I will be personally visiting schools, shopping centres, police stations, councils, and local departments to deliver donuts — each one symbolising a milestone project that’s making a difference in Far North Queensland.
The Crisafulli Government remains focused on stronger communities, better infrastructure, and real outcomes for Queenslanders, with the past 12 months delivering:
-
More police and stronger laws to keep communities safe
-
More housing and support for growing regional populations
-
More free healthcare and better access to essential services
-
Investment in infrastructure to meet future needs
Delivering for Far North Queensland
As part of the Queensland Government’s Delivering for Queensland initiative, donut deliveries will coincide with key projects across the Barron River electorate, including:
Delivering a New Barron River Bridge and Betterment Projects across FNQ with the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
Delivering Better Facilities for Schools, such as a new security fence at Trinity Beach State School in 2026.
Delivering Local Projects like the Secure Communities Partnership Program, Casuarina Street Bridge, and Northern Beaches Leisure Trail with Cairns Regional Council.
Delivering World-Class Eco-Tourism Projects, including the Wangetti Trail and Smithfield Mountain Bike Park, with Tourism Tropical North Queensland and the Department of Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation.
Delivering Safer Communities through PolAir, the State Flying Squad, and Adult Time, Adult Crime initiatives, with Smithfield Police Station.
It’s been a year of hard work, collaboration, and real results for our communities. The donut deliveries are a fun way to thank the people and organisations who’ve helped make these projects happen—and to highlight the tangible outcomes we’ve delivered together. Behind every donut is a serious achievement—and a community that’s better off because of it.
Looking ahead, I’ve got several major projects are on the horizon for the Barron River electorate, including:
-
A Legacy House for veteran families in Far North Queensland
-
Additional funding for local sporting facilities
-
Expanded healthcare services for the Northern Beaches
We’re proud to be delivering for Queensland—and proud to be delivering for Far North Queensland. We’re just getting started. The next 12 months will be even bigger.
