Queensland’s tourism industry is entering a new era with the official launch of the Tourism Support Hub, a key milestone of the Crisafulli Government’s Destination 2045 plan. The Hub is designed to deliver a true fresh start for operators, removing barriers, cutting through red tape, and restoring confidence in one of our state’s most important economic pillars.
For too long, businesses have been forced to navigate complex government processes alone. Permit applications, grant eligibility and business support were spread across multiple agencies, costing operators time, resources and opportunities. The Tourism Support Hub changes that. By acting as a single point of truth for Queensland’s 65,000 tourism-related businesses, it ensures operators can access help quickly, clearly and without unnecessary delay.
The Hub provides a personalised concierge service — giving each enquiry a dedicated support officer who will respond within one business day. These officers can walk operators through business development, grant programs, permits and planning, even tailoring a step-by-step plan for more complex needs. This practical, hands-on support lets operators get back to doing what they do best: creating unforgettable experiences and showcasing Queensland to the world.
The Tourism Support Hub comes alongside landmark legislation currently before State Parliament to introduce a centralised ecotourism permit system. Instead of multiple fees, forms and applications, businesses will have one streamlined process. Together, these reforms begin to undo the legacy of red tape that has held back operators for far too long.
Tourism injects more than $110 million into Queensland’s economy every day. With the eyes of the world on our state as we approach 2032, the Tourism Support Hub gives operators the leg-up they need to compete, grow and thrive. It’s a fresh start, a plan for Queensland’s future, and a powerful step toward making our state the events capital of the nation.
