There are two important opportunities currently open for community members to have their say on local projects in Smithfield and Wangetti. If you live nearby, use these spaces, or simply care about how they evolve into the future, now is the time to get involved.
Smithfield Mountain Bike Park
Draft Network Track Concept Survey
Community consultation is now underway for the Draft Network Track Concept for Smithfield Mountain Bike Park. This process is designed to gather feedback from residents, riders, environmental stakeholders and the broader community before plans are finalised.
Residents Drop In Sessions
Residents are invited to attend one of the following sessions:
Location: Marlin Coast Neighbourhood Centre
205 Reed Road, Trinity Park
• Monday 23 February, 4:30pm to 6:30pm
• Tuesday 24 February, 7am to 9am
General Community Drop In Sessions
Location: Smithfield Shopping Centre
Vacant shop near SpecSavers
• Wednesday 25 February, 3pm to 7pm
• Thursday 26 February, 3pm to 7pm
These sessions provide an opportunity to speak directly with the project team, ask questions and provide feedback in person.
The consultation survey will remain open until 13 March. All feedback received will help inform the future direction of the park and ensure the network reflects community priorities, environmental considerations and user needs.
Wangetti Trail
Community Reference Groups Expression of Interest
Community involvement is also being sought for the Wangetti Trail project through the establishment of Community Reference Groups.
Expressions of Interest for the Northern and Central Community Reference Groups will be announced on 16 February. Nominations will close on 6 March.
These groups are intended to provide a structured forum for community input and discussion regarding the project. At this stage, the Expression of Interest process relates to the Northern and Central sections, with Southern representation not yet included.
I encourage everyone to have their say!
