Families in Cairns have enjoyed a heart-warming morning of fun, connection and celebration as the latest G’Day Little Queenslanders event took over the Eastern Event Lawn on The Esplanade.
Hosted by the Queensland Government, the free family-friendly gathering was designed to celebrate Queensland’s youngest residents — our “little Queenslanders” — while bringing local communities together. The event delivered a vibrant morning of laughter, live children’s entertainment, and hands-on activities that delighted families of all kinds. It was wonderful to MC this event and to meet so many families.
The G’Day Little Queenslanders initiative is part of the Government’s commitment to delivering a fresh start for Queensland, with a focus on early childhood wellbeing and community connection. Each event is tailored specifically for families with children aged 0–2 years, offering a relaxed and welcoming environment where parents can:

Families who registered also received an official certificate to welcome their “Little Queenslanders,” adding a special keepsake to mark the milestones of early life.
The Cairns celebration follows other successful events in Moreton Bay, Townsville, and the Redlands Coast, with even more planned across Queensland in 2026.
