It’s hard to believe that just 13 months ago I stepped into a role that would challenge me, inspire me, and give me the honour of representing the people of Barron River and Far North Queensland.

I ran because Cairns was hurting.
And just weeks later, our region was hit by the worst natural disaster in 100 years, Cyclone Jasper.

Many in Far North Queensland are still recovering and my thoughts remain with every family still rebuilding.

From day one, I promised this job would be about action, not talk.
About listening, not ignoring.
About delivering, not delaying.

Here’s what that has looked like so far:

Trinity Beach State School will finally receive their long overdue fence after five years of being ignored. Thank you Minister Langbroek for delivering this important safety upgrade.

Legacy House has secured one million dollars in state funding to support veteran families in Smithfield. Thank you Premier David Crisafulli for backing this essential project.

After 22 months on generators, 130 homes in Kamerunga Villas are finally reconnected to the grid. Thank you Minister Leahy for helping fight for this community.

JCU Dental has secured eight hundred thousand dollars so students can continue delivering world class dental care. Thank you Minister Nicholls for stepping in when it mattered.

But we are not finished.

Coming up:
A world class mountain bike park at Smithfield
A completed Wangetti Trail
A new Barron River Bridge
And more support for small businesses, community groups, families and schools.

As long as I am your elected member, I will continue fighting for more for Far North Queensland.
This is just the beginning.
