There’s some great news for the Northern Beaches, with the Crisafulli Government investing $429,000 to complete the final stage of the Earl Hill walking track network.
With more than 2,000 people already using the network each week, it’s clear Earl Hill has become a favourite destination for walkers, families and visitors exploring the Northern Beaches. The new trail head will start at Trinity Beach and feature plenty of stairs and epic views of the beach.
The project is also a big win for our local economy.
I’m particularly pleased that the construction contract has been awarded to Contour Works, a local Far North Queensland business with an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality trail projects across the region. Supporting local companies means supporting local jobs, local families and keeping investment right here in our community.
Contour Works has played a role in some of Far North Queensland’s most well-known recreational infrastructure projects, and I know they’ll do a fantastic job delivering this important final stage.
I’d also like to acknowledge Deputy Mayor Brett Olds, who has been a tireless advocate for this project. Brett has worked hard to champion the community’s desire to see the Earl Hill network completed, and his commitment to delivering better outcomes for the Northern Beaches has helped get this project over the line.
Projects like this are what community investment is all about. They create jobs, support local businesses, attract visitors to our region and leave a lasting legacy for future generations.
The Northern Beaches is one of the best places in Australia to live, work and visit, and investments like this help ensure it stays that way.
I’m looking forward to seeing construction get underway and, before long, seeing locals and visitors enjoying the completed Earl Hill track network for years to come. Contour Works aims to have the job done before the start of the wet season.
